Inter-caste couple assaulted in Haveri: Woman was gang-raped by a group of men repeatedly

In shocking incident which shoock the nation, a group of six to seven Muslim men barged in to a hotel room and dragged a women in the room to forest area and gangraped her. The incident took place on January 7.

Showcasing as moral policing, these six to seven Muslim men verbally abused and thrashed an interfaith couple(Muslim woman & Hindu man), who were staying at a hotel in Haveri district, sources said.

The woman told media that, gang of Muslim men verbally abused the couple and filmed the woman while abusing her. After dragging her to river side & forest area repetedly gangraped her.

The matter came to light after the victims narrated their ordeal to the police, and registered a case against the accused. Police have arrested two accused so far.

On receiving information about an interfaith couple booking a hotel room, the group of men barged into the hotel, force opened the door of the couple’s room and started assaulting the couple.
